Who is Lee?
Hi, My name is Yuhyeon “Lee” Urias, and please call me “Lee.”
I’m a registered associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT #134514) in California and provide online therapy (Telehealth) sessions for individuals, couples, and families anywhere in California.
I come from an Asian immigrant and multicultural background. Therefore, I understand what therapy means to you and what challenges you could be facing. You took the first step on this journey. Together, we can strengthen your tools to reconnect with yourself and your environment.

Individual therapy
Understanding individual’s core-beliefs is important for us to figure out where we are now. When we develop irrational beliefs about ourselves instead of healthy core-belief, we often feel disconnected with environment, others and ourselves. I’ll assist you to recognize what core-belief, behavioral and emotional patterns you’ve been using and what would work better to reconnect to yourself.

Couples/Family therapy
I have a passion to work with couples who struggle with boundaries issue, active conflicts, more than one partner’s mental health issues or multi-cultural issues. I encourage my clients actively practice on improving their communication skills & critical thinking to enhance their problem-solving skills. Our therapeutic goal would be accepting each partner’s personality and creating mutual culture.

In-Network for Aetna, BlueShield of CA, Cigna, and Optum/United Health Care
*For out of network, I can provide clients superbills, so they may request reimbursement to their insurance company directly. If clients need sliding scale, we can discuss it as well. Feel free to contact me, so we can explore more options.

I’ve been working with immigrant (1st generation), adult children of immigrants (1.5/2nd generation, Asian American & Latinx) and
multicultural/interracial couples who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship issue, adults’ ADHD, boundaries issues, and trauma in therapy, I collaborate with my clients on finding effective ways of communication, changing irrational beliefs, learning/setting healthier boundaries, and identifying/expressing emotions. I try to assist them to interpret their issues from different angles. Although it can be challenging to achieve our therapeutic goals, I trust that my clients can work through this journey because they’re resilient and strong.
The most important thing is making sure my clients feel understood. That is why I have a passion to support clients to reconnect to themselves by analyzing their reality and patterns. I also assist clients to practice redefining themselves and re-establising healthier behavioral and emotional patterns based on CBT, Gottman, Attachment & Family system lenses.
